Snow Geese Presentation

Where did all these things come from? Everything you’ve ever wanted to know about snow geese.
Randy Smith will talk about the basic ecology, life history and populations of snow geese migrating through Illinois and the Midwest. We’ll touch on a variety of topics from population changes and breeding ecology to behavior, migration, disease and more. The presentation will feature lots of pictures and plenty of time for questions.
Randy Smith is a wetland and wildlife ecologist who has worked as a researcher with the Illinois Natural History Survey, as the Wetland Wildlife Program Manager/State Waterfowl Biologist with Illinois DNR and currently works as the Illinois River Project Director for The Nature Conservancy based at The Emiquon Preserve near Lewistown. Randy and his family live in Havana along the Illinois River where they spend as much time outside as possible throughout the year, with an emphasis on various sports, sunsets and campfires.
