After taking two years off due to the COVID pandemic, Lincoln Memorial Garden’s 8K Trail Race + Kids Fun Run came back in a big way June 4th. Tom Skelly, 2022 Race Coordinator, reported that 147 runners in the 8K (78 men and 69 women), and about 15 kids “Fun Runners,” participated in this year’s event, along with a small army of enthusiastic volunteers.
It was a beautiful day with great temperatures. Several comments from experienced trail racers indicated that the course was one of the best marked courses they had ever run.
People seemed to really enjoy the “award photo” called “Foggy Path,” which the photographer, Janet Sanderfield, graciously allowed LMG to present to the top runners in each age group.
Kevin “Running Abe” Wood was an excellent runner and a really fun addition to the whole atmosphere. He handed out awards, ran with the kids, and paused for pictures.

Many thanks to the volunteer photographers who provided these inspiring photos: Craig Dahlquist, Marty Dahlquist, Karen McNaught, Larry Miller and Tom Skelly.
