Monarchs and Me

What inscect migrates 2,000 miles each year, has a wing span under 4 inches and weighs less than a paper clip?  This summer at Lincoln Memorial Garden, 5 to 12 year old children will have the opportunity to learn the answer to that question!  Each child enrolled in the "Monarchs and Me" class will learn about this magnificent insect, the only butterfly known to migrate such distances annually from Canada to the volcanic mountain ranges of central Mexico.  Participants will also have the opportunity to help the monarchs by planting milkweed at LMG.  The class will be held at the Lincoln Memorial Garden Nature Center on Saturday, September 7.  For additional information please call 529-1111.
